Geoff Garlock bids farewell to Maude Night
As of this morning, Geoff Garlock has officially retired from Maude Night. He was a writer from the original Maude teams (over five years ago) and an originalĀ Neighbor Boy writer.
As Geoff’s teammate, it’s sad to see him go, so I wanted to share the video above, as it’s one of my favorite Garlock sketches.
(I couldn’t find a video of my other Garlock favorite, a sketch where Billy Joel keeps gettingĀ interruptedĀ during the recording of “Movin’ Out” because the recording engineer thinks he’s actually having a heart attack-ack-ack-ack. Delightfully stupid.)
And this video was from before Geoff’s tenure on Neighbor Boy, but it makes me laugh every time I watch it.
Do yourself a favor and check out Geoff’s podcast “Worst Gig Ever”, which is legitimately great and I’m not just saying that because he’s a friend. Geoff and co-host Mike Pace chat with musicians and comedians about everything that sucks about the “creative” lifestyle and why they’re still doing it anyway. Episode 4 with Will Hines is a good place to start.
I’m sad so I don’t LIKE this…I LOVE……to FART!
I am lucky that I got to write with him for a year through Maude Night. (I’m talking about Geoff, not Matt.)
miss working with...especially my friend Matt Moskovciak. Maude
